Holiday Excitement – what to do with all that energy

This time of year is so magical! Houses are decorated with beautiful lights, some of those are synced to Christmas music. Children of all ages wait each day for the Elf on Shelf to watch how good they are being and eventually report back to the Big Man. While all of this excitement is going on, the adults need to prepare for trips to extended family, meals for their guests and getting the house clean. Pair those two items together and it can be a bit eventful in your house. Below are some ideas to redirect the children’s energy.

Official Norad Santa Tracker:

  • countdown to Christmas
  • Track Santa’s journey
  • play games in Santa’s Village
  • history of Santa

Cartoon Creator

  • create a cartoon of Santa’s journey
  • create a cartoon of your child’s belief in Santa Clause
  • kids can create a cartoon for each person’s place setting about their family’s holiday fun

Name Cards

  • kids can create them from nature items
  • use name cards for locations that over night guests will sleep

No Bake Holiday Treats:

Ornaments:

(To find more ideas, go to  Google and type  “no bake Christmas treats for kids” in the search field. Instead of searching websites, click on images at the top of the page. This allows you to see the final product. Click on the picture to get the recipe.)

May you all have a wonderful holiday celebration surrounded by those that make you smile.
